OVERLAND PARK, KS – Kompass Kapital Management announced today that it has been awarded LEED-Gold Certification. Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED – Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design – is the most widely used green building rating system in the world and is an international symbol of excellence.
Through design, construction and operations practices, LEED-certified buildings have a significant impact on environmental and human health by addressing carbon, energy, water, waste, transportation, materials, and indoor environmental quality.

Kompass Kapital Management achieved LEED certification for implementing practical and measurable strategies and solutions in areas including:
- Sustainable site development and water efficiency – recycling and water harvesting used for toilets and irrigation.
- Energy efficiency – all appliances are energy efficient with auto lighting implemented to reduce the amount of electricity used.
- Materials and resources selection – all building materials and furniture meet LEED certification requirements.
- Innovation in design – the use of glass walls to bring in outside natural light; sit-to-stand desks; automated HVAC and lighting, and bike storage.
Green buildings allow companies to operate more sustainably and give the people inside them a healthier, more comfortable space to work.
