Reimagining LightSpeed Broadband with a Fresh New Look
Since welcoming LightSpeed to the Kompass Kapital family in 2023, both KKM and LS marketing departments have been working together to reimagine how to communicate and promote LightSpeed’s fast and reliable full fibre broadband services to East England and beyond.
Together we identified the need for a rebrand that embraces modern aesthetics, features a versatile logo recognizable at any size, and engaging, conversational copy to enhance brand recognition. Discover the exciting relaunch of LightSpeed here: LightSpeed.

A new blood drive record, crowning our Q2 Olympics Winner, and more exciting events on the horizon.
Blood Drive
Thank you to everyone who donated and volunteered at our Q2 Blood Drive. We had our highest participation yet with 32 donors and 35 units collected! Each blood donation helps save up to three lives and positively impacts many more. Your donation is truly appreciated!
Kompass Kapital’s next quarterly blood drive is on Tuesday, September 24 from 11 AM – 4 PM in the 9800 Pavilion Conference Rooms. We look forward to seeing you there and making an even larger impact on our community and those in need!
OpCo Olympics
This Quarter’s Kompass Olympics Happy Hour transported attendees to a Hawaiian paradise (well, the Pavilion, which is as close as we could get) for a spirited evening of competition and camaraderie.
The highlight of the evening was the fiercely contested trivia competition, where individuals representing their company competed for the first-place victory and bragging rights. In a stunning display of knowledge, Moonshot emerged victorious, clinching the title of Q2 Kompass Olympics Champions (for the second quarter in a row)!
Congrats to those who won the raffles and a heartfelt thank you to all who joined us for this memorable event! Mark your calendars for our next Q3 Olympics Happy Hour on September 19. More information coming soon.
IT
Cyberattacks are on the rise. Arm yourself by getting educated.
According to a report by Check Point Research, the average number of cyberattacks per organization per week increased 5% from Q1 2023 to Q1 2024, reaching 1308 threats, which is also a 28% increase from Q4 2023. They said this trend comes with “an intriguing shift in the landscape of cyberattacks, both in frequency and in the nature of threats.”
While these numbers might be dismissed as statistics relevant only to other companies or organizations, the threat is real and impacts people both across the U.S. and globally. The most recent and public attack affected Kansas City businesses with threat agents infiltrating over 15,000 car dealerships across the U.S. and Canada to steal information and shut down their internal systems.
As a preventive measure, KKM will be working with operating companies to ensure your team is educated on types of cyberattacks and properly trained in handling them to avoid becoming a victim.
In the meantime, we advise everyone to keep up to date on their Infosec training and report any suspicious activity to your IT department. For more information about this topic, please reach out to Jack Baker at jbaker@kompasskapital.com. If you have any questions about our security measures, please reach out to Joe Leigh at jleigh@kompasskapital.com.

Reviving Town Fork Creek Neighborhood
In May 2024, we invited OpCos from Kansas City, Colorado, Tennessee, and the UK to renovate and repair the Town Fork Creek neighborhood in Kansas City. This marked our second year partnering with Habitat for Humanity to provide affordable housing solutions and restore pride in homeownership.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our volunteers who repainted home exteriors, repaired patios, and revived residents’ lawns with new plants and landscaping.
