Unique challenge: I oversee both our operating companies working in a wide range of industries, as well as the family office side. We have seen exponential growth and many system changes. These, along with the varying industries, make the job challenging but also rewarding and exciting.
Economic uncertainty focus: We have focused on weekly metrics and impactful financial measurements and insights. We closely watch cash flow and sales pipelines, and we are currently looking at process automation to get this information out quickly and accurately.
Role model: I have had several great role models early in my life and career. I learned my strong work ethic and family balance from my dad by watching him get up very early every morning to make it to the office so he could be at every sporting event of mine. I also owe a significant amount of my success in accounting to Larry Vohland, who took me under his wing early on in my career and taught me many technical, relationship and client skills.
Distinguishing characteristic: I try to bring elements of fun to the job every day. Good leaders are only as strong as their team, and I have been fortunate to find and help build great teams.
